SPLASH weekend around the exhibition “La Redoute, un temps d’avance. Fashion, design, advertising”.

On May 30 and 31, 2026, La Piscine invites you and your family to discover the exhibition La Redoute, un temps d’avance. Fashion, design, advertising

Born of the industrial revolution of the 19th century, the town of Roubaix was built around textiles, and it was against this backdrop that Joseph Pollet founded La Redoute in 1837, initially a family spinning mill renowned for its refined fabrics and knitwear, before becoming the European leader in mail-order and then a major player in French e-commerce for fashion and homeware. A visionary, La Redoute has left its mark on the history of modern commerce through its innovations – from the first catalog in 1928 to the Kangaroo card, from Minitel to "24 h Chrono", right up to the Internet – while playing a key role in the evolution of consumer habits.
The exhibition retraces this success story through archives, catalogs, advertisements, testimonials and objects, and highlights its collaborations with leading couturiers (Yves Saint Laurent, Sonia Rykiel, Jacquemus…), designers (Philippe Starck, Constance Guisset, Christian Lacroix…) and photographers such as Dominique Issermann and Kate Barry.

On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, a range of free workshops are on offer for children, who can browse from one to the next, while enjoying a variety of hands-on activities on a given theme. For adults, guided tours are offered, but they can also take part in the workshops.**_
