With the exception of the edge of the water feature, all areas of the museum are accessible to visitors with reduced mobility (lifts and access ramps).
For your convenience, wheelchairs and walking frames are available on request at the museum reception. Subject to availability.

The museum is closed every Monday and on certain public holidays: 1 January and 1 May, Ascension Thursday, 14 July, 15 August, 1 November and 25 December.

Online booking is recommended but not compulsory. You can purchase your admission ticket (with or without an audio guide) at the museum ticket office.

For a quieter visit, try the Friday evening opening from 6pm to 8pm. What’s more, it’s free!

Only service animals accompanying people with a disability are permitted.

Although a dip might be tempting, the water is only 15 cm deep and is reserved for the reflections of the stained-glass windows!

A cloakroom is available in the museum’s entrance hall. We kindly ask you to leave large rucksacks, sports bags, carrier bags, umbrellas, inflatable rings and other such items in the cloakroom… As a general rule, any bulky items

Parking spaces are available next to the museum – orange zone: €1.40 for the first hour, then €0.70 for each subsequent hour.
A 500-metre walk away, the station car park offers 390 spaces – open 24 hours a day for season ticket holders. Monthly or annual season tickets available. Weekly and weekend passes also available. Special rates for students and local traders. Motorcycle parking.

The museum is not responsible for any parking-related issues nor does it manage the parking meters.

The length of your visit depends on your own pace. On average, allow between 2 and 2½ hours to explore all the collections and exhibitions.

Your admission ticket is valid for the whole day. You may leave the museum and re-enter using the same ticket.

Your ticket is valid for one hour after the start of the time slot you have purchased; a grace period may apply throughout the day. However, in the event of high visitor numbers, priority will be given to visitors with a ticket for the correct time slot.

It is not possible to book tickets online for those entitled to free or reduced-price admission, as a valid original proof of eligibility must be presented at the ticket office. Please contact the museum ticket office.

The sale of admission tickets or event tickets is treated as the sale of services and leisure activities and does not entitle the purchaser to a cooling-off period. Tickets are non-changeable, non-exchangeable and non-refundable. They are valid only on the selected date and at the selected time slot.
Once your booking has been made, it is no longer possible to change the date or time slot.
The circumstances in which a refund may be requested are set out in the museum’s terms and conditions of sale.

Freehand sketches on paper or lightweight card using graphite pencils and/or coloured pencils are permitted in both the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, provided that those sketching do not obstruct the view or hinder the movement of other visitors.

In the permanent collection galleries, photography and filming are permitted for personal use. However, the use of selfie sticks, flash photography and other lighting devices is not permitted.
